1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the AI Emoji mobile application, website, related services, customer support, and any other experience that links to this policy (collectively, the “Service”). In this policy, “AI Emoji,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Service.
By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: email address, display name, authentication details, and account preferences.
- Selfies and images: photos you upload for emoji generation.
- Generated content: emoji packs, previews, edits, and saved outputs.
- Communications: messages, attachments, and information you provide when contacting support.
- Deletion requests: information needed to verify and process an account or data deletion request.
Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data: device type, operating system, app version, language, IP address, and diagnostic data.
- Usage data: screens viewed, features used, generation attempts, performance events, and crash logs.
- Transaction data: purchase status, subscription tier, and transaction identifiers. Payment card details are generally processed by the app store or payment provider and are not stored by AI Emoji.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- create, display, save, and deliver the emoji packs you request;
- operate accounts, subscriptions, and customer support;
- maintain reliability, detect errors, prevent abuse, and protect the Service;
- analyze product performance and improve user experience;
- send service-related notices, security messages, and updates;
- comply with law, enforce our Terms, and resolve disputes.
Where required by law, we rely on one or more legal bases, including performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Selfies, Facial Information, and Generated Content
Your selfie may contain facial information. AI Emoji processes the image to detect visual features such as face shape, hair, expression, and other appearance details needed to create a stylized emoji character.
AI Emoji does not use uploaded selfies to identify you in public databases, authenticate your identity, or track you across unrelated services. We do not sell facial information or use it for targeted advertising.
Source photos and temporary processing files are designed to be deleted within 24 hours after generation is completed, unless you intentionally save a source image to your account, additional retention is needed to investigate abuse or security incidents, or law requires us to keep it longer. Generated emoji packs remain available until you delete them or your account.
We do not use private uploaded photos to train general-purpose AI models unless we first provide a separate, clear consent mechanism and you choose to participate.
6. Data Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Typical retention periods are:
- source photos and temporary generation files: up to 24 hours after processing;
- saved emoji packs: until you delete the pack or your account;
- account records: while your account is active and for a limited period afterward for security, tax, legal, and dispute-resolution needs;
- support communications: generally up to 24 months;
- security and diagnostic logs: generally up to 12 months.
When you request account deletion, we begin deleting or de-identifying covered data within 30 days. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being overwritten, unless a longer period is legally required.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, download, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and appeal a denied request.
You can manage saved packs and account settings in the app. To delete your account, use the in-app deletion control or visit our Delete Account page.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where local law permits, but we may require proof of authorization and identity verification.
You may opt out of non-essential product emails using the unsubscribe link in the message. Service and security notices may still be sent while your account remains active.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, logging, and limited employee access. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.
Please use a strong password, keep your sign-in credentials private, and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
AI Emoji and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections and transfer impact assessments.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service, technology, law, or our practices. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required. Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect means the revised policy applies to future use.
